Checked this session

Ranks come from Apple's public iTunes Search API — the same catalog and relevance engine behind App Store search, without Search Ads placements or personalization. Treat positions as a reliable directional rank: what a brand-new user with no history is most likely to see. Apple returns at most 200 results per query.

How to read it

What your rank actually means

A keyword rank isn't a vanity number — it maps almost directly to whether a keyword sends you installs at all. Three things to keep in mind when you read your results.

Top 10 is the visibility zone

Around 65% of App Store downloads start with a search, and most users never scroll past the first handful of results. Positions 1–3 capture the large majority of taps; past #10 you're effectively invisible for that term. Ranks 11–30 are your best optimization targets — you're relevant, just not seen yet.

Check after every release

Rankings move when your metadata, ratings, or conversion rate move. Re-check your core keywords a few days after each metadata update to see what a change actually did — and check the same keyword across your top countries, because ranks differ per storefront and each one is optimized separately.

Win long-tail first

If you rank below #50 on a big head term, don't fight it directly. Win specific 3–4 word phrases first — lower volume, far lower competition — and let the download velocity they generate lift your rank on shorter terms. That's the compounding loop behind every organic growth story.

FAQ

Keyword rank checking, answered

How do I check my App Store keyword ranking?

Enter the keyword you want to check, pick the country storefront, and add your app's name or App Store link. The tool queries Apple's public search data live and shows the top 200 results with your app's exact position highlighted. Repeat for each keyword you target — a keyword you rank #8 for behaves completely differently from one you rank #80 for.

How accurate is this rank checker?

It uses Apple's public iTunes Search API — the same catalog and relevance engine behind App Store search — so ranks are a close, directional match to what shoppers see. It doesn't include Apple Search Ads placements or personalization, so the position on any individual iPhone can differ by a few spots. For tracking whether a metadata change moved you up or down, it's a reliable signal.

Why is my rank different from what I see on my iPhone?

Live App Store results are personalized: Apple factors in your download history, apps you already have installed, your device, and whatever Search Ads auctions are running at that moment. This tool shows the unpersonalized organic ranking — the fairest baseline for measuring your ASO work, and what a brand-new user with no history is most likely to see.

What is a good App Store keyword rank?

Top 10 is where downloads happen — most users never scroll past the first few results, and positions 1–3 capture the large majority of taps. Ranks 11–30 mean you're relevant but invisible; treat those as your best optimization targets. Below 50, the keyword contributes almost nothing today. Win long-tail phrases first, then climb the head terms — more in our guide to App Store ranking factors.

Does this tool check Google Play rankings?

No — this checker is Apple App Store only. Google doesn't offer a public search API for Play Store results, so live Play rank checking requires a paid ASO platform with its own crawling infrastructure. The App Store side is fully covered here: any keyword, 50 country storefronts, top 200 positions.

Is anything I type stored or sent to your servers?

No. The page has no backend — your browser queries Apple's public iTunes Search API directly and renders the results locally. We never see, log, or store your keywords or your app. The only party that receives the search term is Apple, the same as when you search the App Store itself.
