What it does

Every phrase your words can make

The App Store and Google Play build search phrases by combining the individual words in your metadata. The shuffler does the same on demand, so you can see — and research — the full long-tail your core words already cover.

Grouped by length

Four words produce 4 + 12 + 24 + 24 = 64 phrases, laid out in columns for 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-word terms — so you can scan the long-tail at the length you're targeting.

Every order

You get both fitness home and home fitness. They're different queries with their own volume, and the store can rank you differently for each.

Select what fits

Tick the phrases that describe your app, or use a column's select-all to grab a whole length at once. The toolbar keeps a running count of what you've chosen.

Export or copy

Send the selected phrases to a CSV or copy them to your clipboard, then drop the list into a keyword research tool to check volume and difficulty on every term at once.

FAQ

Keyword shuffler questions, answered

What is a keyword shuffler and how does it help ASO?

A keyword shuffler — also called a phrase mixer — takes a handful of words and rearranges them into every possible multi-word phrase. In ASO it's used to find long-tail search terms: enter up to four core words and the tool produces every 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-word combination in every order, grouped by length. You then pick the phrases that match how people search for your app and research their volume.

How many phrases does it generate from four words?

Because order matters, four words produce 4 one-word phrases, 12 two-word phrases, 24 three-word phrases and 24 four-word phrases — 64 in total. Three words give you 3 + 6 + 6 = 15, and two words give you 2 + 2 = 4. The tool only builds columns up to the number of words you've entered.

Why does word order matter?

The tool keeps every order — both fitness home and home fitness — because the two are different search queries with their own volume, and the store can rank you differently for each. The stores match the words in your metadata regardless of order, but the phrase a user actually types still varies, so seeing every arrangement helps you spot the ones worth targeting.

What do I do with the phrases after generating them?

Select the phrases that describe your app, then export them to a CSV or copy them to your clipboard. Drop that list into a keyword research tool to check volume and difficulty, and make sure every single word that builds your best phrases appears somewhere across your app name, subtitle and keyword field — the stores assemble the phrases from those words automatically.

Can I select all the phrases in one column at once?

Yes. Each column header has a select-all checkbox that toggles every phrase of that length, and the toolbar has Select all and Clear all for the whole result set. The running count shows how many phrases you've selected, and export and copy act only on the selected ones.

Is anything I type into this tool stored or sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or sent to any server — close the tab and it's gone.
