Keyword Rank Checker ("the extension") is a Chrome extension provided by ASO Agency (https://asoagency.io). It checks and tracks where apps rank for keywords in App Store and Google Play search. It is the browser companion to our free keyword rank checker.
Data we collect
None. The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or sensitive user information to us or to any third party. It has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising, and we never receive the apps or keywords you track.
Data stored on your device
The apps you track, their keywords and countries, the rank history of each keyword, the latest top apps for each keyword, the progress of a running rank check, and your settings are saved locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device (except in files you choose to export) and is not accessible to us. You can export it, clear an app's history, or stop tracking an app at any time from the extension's More tab; removing the extension deletes all of it.
Network requests
The extension contacts only Apple's and Google's public App Store and Google Play endpoints, and only when you use it: when you add an app, open the extension on an App Store or Google Play app page (to show that app's name and icon), run a rank check, open the top apps for a keyword, or request keyword ideas. These requests go directly from your browser to itunes.apple.com, search.itunes.apple.com and play.google.com, contain only the search term (keyword or app name), country, store language and app identifier needed to answer them, and are sent without cookies. App icons shown in the extension are loaded from Apple's and Google's image servers. Like any web request, Apple and Google receive your IP address under their own privacy policies; we do not.
Permissions
The extension uses the activeTab permission to read the address of the tab you are viewing when you click its icon, so an App Store or Google Play app page can be tracked in one click; the address is checked locally and is not stored or sent anywhere. It uses storage to keep your tracked apps and rank history on your device, and host access to itunes.apple.com, search.itunes.apple.com and play.google.com solely to perform the requests described above.
